Lake Superior is the largest of North America's five Great Lakes and is the world's largest freshwater lake. It is so large that it stretches over parts of Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, and o­ntario. Lake Superior is surrounded by thick forest and offers a beautiful nature scene. This Great Lake is the perfect place to relax.

Not o­nly is the forest scenery breathtaking, Lake Superior is surrounded by rocky beaches and great cliffs. There are several incredible waterfalls that are a must see for anyone. Not o­nly are there several roadside falls, but for those with a strong sense of adventure, day long hikes will bring you to multiple hidden waterfalls. In fact, seeing the falls o­n each side of this tremendous lake could easily take several days.

Depending o­n when and exactly where you are visiting Lake Superior, there are several options for museums and shops. Also, the views are different in Canada, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. There are beautiful sandstone formations in Michigan, great shops in Wisconsin, museums in Minnesota, and beautiful parks in Canda. If you visit far enough North, you may be lucky enough to see Aurora Borealis, or the Northern Lights. This is o­ne of the most incredible views you will ever see.

When vacationing, or just visiting, there are several activities available. Boat trips across Lake Superior are offered, and there are plenty of trout for fishing. Kayaking is another option for those who love water activities. Camping in this scenic environment is a must and there are also plenty of hiking excursions.

The abundant wildlife and breathtaking scenery makes Lake Superior o­ne of the most beautiful vacation spots in North America.
